Estancia Los Cardones, on the slopes of Tolombón, is home to stony soils rich in flaked mica. These exceptional soils, combined with the region’s harsh climatic conditions, give rise to extraordinary wines. Each year of cultivation has been a journey of discovery, with the vineyards revealing their best expression, resulting in wines that are complex and full of character. The winery was founded in 2009 by the Saavedra Azcona family in partnership with Mil Suelos. This project seeks to capture the essence of this vineyard in Tolombón. Its soils, unlike any others in the Calchaquí Valleys, are shallow and rocky, with abundant flaked slate and disintegrated mica on the surface.
